The latest program announcement
UNB’s October27 announcement sets a September2027 launch for a four-year Bachelor of Data Science at Saint John, combining mathematics, statistics and computer science. Students may follow a general stream or concentrations in health, ecology and environment, business, or engineering and technology.
From data skills to applications
The university lists programming, data management, machine learning and visualisation alongside ethics, communication and a capstone. Internships, applied research and industry projects form part of the planned experience; the announcement does not guarantee paid work for every student.
Cross-check and planning for Taiwan
CBC’s independent July2 reporting confirmed the same campus and September2027 timing and interviewed program developer Connie Stewart. It noted that AI would not initially be a separate major. This article distinguishes that earlier confirmation from October’s announcement. Taiwan families should compare prerequisites, international fees and placement selection rather than equate a data science degree with guaranteed AI employment.
