EDITORIAL POLICY

Editorial policy

Global Education News is based on the principles of accuracy, transparency of sources, traceability, disclosure of interests and editorial responsibility.

Source level

Priority is given to the use of government, universities, regulatory bodies, court documents, original texts of statutes, official statistics and first-hand bulletins on changes in international student policies, visas, admission systems, regulations, tuition fees, quotas, eligibility and education systems. Media coverage is mainly used as a complement to the background and cross-check confirmation, and is not a substitute for the original policy.

2. Dual identification

In principle, each news with policy or institutional implications is cross-checked with at least two independent and credible sources, at least one of which should be a first-hand source. The reconciling items include the date of publication, the date of entry into force, the person to whom it applies, the amount, the percentage, the number of persons, the conditions for application, the exception clause, the name of the institution, the name of the course and the area area.

If there is only a single credible first-hand source, but the message has a high degree of promptness and clear public value, the article may be published with a clear indication that "a number of independent sources are yet to be cross-checked " ; If sources contradict each other or key figures, dates cannot be verified, they are not published.

3. State of Title and Policy

The title should faithfully reflect the facts that have been confirmed and should not be written into a formal implementation of proposals, deliberations, media speculation or measures that have not yet entered into force. The articles will try to distinguish between "valid" , "declared to be in force" , "under discussion" and "media coverage" .

4. Numbers, dates and proprietary names

Amounts, percentages, numbers, thresholds, visa categories, school names, course names and statutory names are considered high-risk information and the original source is to be checked before publication. If different sources use different statistical calibres, the article should describe the differences and not mix the data.

5. Updates and corrections

Rapidly changing visa, admission and immigration policies may be updated after publication. The date of the update is indicated if the article is substantially modified; If there is a material error in the original language, amend and retain the required statement in accordance with the policy at this location.

6. Public information, analysis and perspectives

Press facts, editorial analysis and the author ' s personal point of view should be distinguished from representation. The analysis could explain the possible impact of the policy, but the inference should not be expressed as an official fact nor go beyond what the source could support.

7. AI principle of subsidiarity

This station may use AI to assist in search, documentation, translation, summary, draft, structured information and website technology production, provided that AI is not a source of fact. AI is still subject to editorial confirmation based on verifiable sources and is based on first-hand information when policy provisions, dates, figures, qualifications and agency names are involved.

8. Pictures and authorizations

Photos of the news are given priority in official originals of the news, in photographs of official institutions or in photos of the Wikimedia Commons scenes with clearly defined terms of authorization. Each article should indicate the source of the picture and the authorized information, and avoid repeating the same picture on the same page or in recent news.

9. Sponsorship, cooperation and disclosure of interests

The content of fee-paying cooperation, advertising and sponsorship is clearly indicated. Institutions that have a direct business, enrolment, collaboration or other relationship that may affect the judgement of the reader will reveal the relationship in terms of importance if they are the subject of the report. Relevant elements are not included in the independent third-party evaluation.

Retroactive sources

The station's news articles maintain, in principle, the "official data and sources" section and provide available Citation links in structured information to facilitate the search engine, the AI system and readers' access to original information.
