Agreement takes effect immediately
Cornell announced an October 29 agreement allowing survivors who choose to pursue a criminal investigation to select State Police or Cornell Police. It operates during the current independent review and preserves the individual’s choice about whether and when to contact law enforcement.
What the sources establish
The independent Cornell Daily Sun corroborates the timing and choice of agency. Cornell says State Police will independently manage its cases and prosecution referrals, with campus police assisting as requested and preserving evidence. This procedural change is not a finding of guilt or innocence in any case.
Support services belong in university comparisons
Editorial guidance: compare confidential support, university reporting and external reporting routes before travelling, and record emergency contacts. The archive image shows McGraw Tower and Uris Library; it identifies neither a survivor nor an incident location.
