Linking resettlement with higher education

Refugee Education UK says the government announced a refugee education pathway in June 2026. REUK is working with government, UNHCR and universities toward applications in autumn 2026 and study from September 2027. These are planning aims; this review does not establish that applications are generally open.

Forty is an initial target

The PIE News reported on 22 October that organisers hope roughly 15 universities can initially host 40 students. This is an operational target rather than a legal cap. Year-round accommodation and living support remain planning priorities, with eligible first-asylum countries still unconfirmed.

Relevance for Taiwanese readers

This pathway serves eligible refugees and is not a general scholarship for Taiwanese applicants. Editorial observation: holiday housing and living support matter alongside tuition when universities welcome displaced students. Await published eligibility rules. The London campus photograph does not imply participation.
