England is preparing a phased reform of post-16 qualifications. The DfE implementation plan and Pearson’s delivery update point to first teaching of new qualifications from September 2027 in digital, education, finance and accounting. This is a 19 October review of an existing plan, not evidence of universal implementation.

BTECs are not all ending together

Pearson confirms funding for another 2027/28 cohort in its Level 3 National Diplomas in Computing and Information Technology, with most sectors facing no immediate change. Study programmes may combine A Levels, V Levels and eligible BTECs, subject to actual provision.

Tariff points are only part of course planning

Editorial guidance: Taiwanese families should confirm the qualification title, awarding body, subjects and first-cohort arrangements, then check acceptance by each intended university. Tariff points do not guarantee subject acceptance or admission. England’s qualification funding arrangements are not an international-student fee waiver.
