ARB expects to introduce Route P in spring 2027 for applicants with accredited Parts 2 and 3 but no accredited Part 1. It says the required competence standard will remain unchanged, with detailed evidence and application guidance to follow before implementation. As reviewed on 19 October, this is a future route.

Registration is distinct from university admission

RIBA’s separate professional guidance explains that undergraduate architecture degrees will continue and many master’s programmes may still require relevant prior study. Admissions remain institution-specific, while RIBA continues validation at Parts 1, 2 and 3. Absence of accredited Part 1 does not mean absence of professional training.

What Taiwanese applicants should verify

Editorial guidance: maintain separate checklists for course entry, ARB registration and recognition in the intended country of practice. Ask the university to assess your degree, portfolio and experience, and consult ARB’s final guidance when issued. UK reform does not itself confer recognition in Taiwan.
