France’s education ministry published its draft 2027 budget on 1 October. Checked on 21 October, it proposes EUR 64 billion excluding pensions, up EUR 1.2 billion on a comparable basis. Localtis independently reports those figures.
Spending and teacher posts are different measures
The ministry expects roughly 180,000 fewer pupils. After other allocations, teacher posts would fall by a net 1,588 FTEs. Support and trainee posts increase, producing a proposed overall gain of 3,257 positions; that is not 3,257 additional established classroom teachers.
Implications for school choice
This remains a draft, not a final allocation for every school. Editorial guidance: Taiwanese families considering secondary study or exchange should ask their school about courses, replacement teachers and student support. National averages do not guarantee individual classroom conditions.
