A French study budget should not automatically use EU tuition rates. Campus France lists annual differentiated fees of EUR 2,902 for bachelor’s and EUR 3,950 for master’s programmes in 2026/27 at covered public institutions for relevant non-EU students. This is an explainer checked on 20 October, not a new fee increase announced today.

Admission does not establish a fee waiver

IAS’s separate analysis identifies exemption status as a major budget variable. Official guidance also lists status, exchange and scholarship exceptions. Taiwanese applicants should obtain the university’s written assessment of their rate, reduction and covered study cycle.

Build the budget in separate parts

Editorial guidance: separate tuition, living costs, any applicable CVEC and other charges. Check private institutions, specialist engineering schools and particular programmes separately. Applicants for 2027/28 should confirm that year’s rules rather than treating 2026/27 figures as a guaranteed future price.
