Applications are open. The 2027 rules cap tuition credits at NZ$15,000 for undergraduate study and NZ$10,000 for postgraduate study. New international entrants need a conditional or unconditional offer and B+ equivalent grades; awards remain competitive.
Apply before payment and visa steps
Applicants who have paid tuition or applied for a visa are ineligible, as are students already enrolled at Waikato or its College. PhD, MPhil, capacity-limited and postgraduate teaching programmes are excluded.
Intake-specific cut-offs
Offshore applications must precede the exclusion dates of 30 November for A, 31 May for B, 31 August for C and 31 October for H/X; the four-week pre-start exclusion also applies.
