The open 31 October round supports a 90- or 120-point thesis in a first master’s degree. International applicants need 120 points at a New Zealand university and contact with a prospective supervisor. Expected achievement is at least A- over the latest 240 points.

Value and payment

Full-time 120-point and 90-point theses receive up to NZ$15,000 and NZ$12,000 respectively, including NZ$5,500 for fees and monthly remaining payments. The last instalment depends on thesis submission. Part-time or already-started study changes the value or payment schedule.

Applying and interpreting older listings

The 2027 rules require a CV of at most two pages, research information and an academic reference. October-round recipients must start their thesis by 30 April next year. StudySpy shows the earlier April round and corroborates the award and international-study condition; the current official page governs this round.
