The VUW Undergraduate International Scholarship provides new full-fee international bachelor’s students with NZD 15,000 towards first-year tuition. It is assessed automatically with admission, without a separate scholarship form, and should be confirmed in the offer documents.
Eligibility checks for applicants in Taiwan
Applicants need a conditional or unconditional offer for full-time, on-campus first-year bachelor’s study. Taiwan applicants without excluded New Zealand/Australian citizenship or residence status may qualify under international rules. Previous VUW study is generally excluded, with stated EAP and foundation-pathway exceptions.
Exchange, study abroad, twinning, credit transfer, advanced standing and New Zealand or home-government sponsorship are excluded. The award does not replace admissions assessment: the BSc Taiwan page lists routes including a B+ high-school average plus one recognised university year, a recognised foundation programme, or IB.
Open applications and timing
Checked on 14 October 2026, the official 2027 BSc page displays an application link and the scholarship, with applications by 7 December 2026 for a 22 February 2027 start. This is a programme example; other or limited-entry programmes may have different deadlines.
ScholarshipPath’s application analysis likewise identifies a one-time first-year tuition credit, not living-cost funding. Families should budget for later years and housing, and check the individual scholarship offer before accepting admission.
