This competitive award opens on 1 May in the year before study. Eligible candidates receive an invitation after admission and have two weeks to provide further information. Taiwanese applicants must satisfy overseas-qualification, full-time on-campus undergraduate and selection requirements.
Separate accommodation from follow-up funding
Year one covers a standard room in a university-owned or affiliated residential college; no payment is made if the student lives elsewhere. Years two and three each provide NZ$7,000 toward tuition and student services fees, normally requiring a prior-year GPA of 7.0 (A−) or eligible professional-programme progression.
The university describes the package as approximately NZ$35,000; accommodation values affect the total, so it is not a fixed cash promise. Editorial guidance: complete admission and any required base-award acceptance, then watch eVision for an invitation rather than assuming unrestricted direct application.
