The British re-engaged in Erasmus+ in 2027, since 8 October 2026 The migration route of visitors and students has been adjusted to provide a clear entry basis for qualified exchange studies, internships, training and other planned activities.
Not all participants use the same visa.
Visitors ' rules may apply to short-term activities; Longer courses, or officially sponsored by an educational institution, may have to follow the Student or ChildStudent paths. The nationality of the participants, the duration of their stay, the content of their activities and the reception facilities affect the required authorization.
Impact on students in Taiwan
The holder of a Taiwan passport cannot be exempted or workable on the sole assumption of Erasmus+ status. The application should be preceded by confirmation from the host and reception institution to check whether ETA, visitor ' s permit or student visa are required and whether the internship is within the permitted range.
The official guidelines will be updated with the 2027 plan. Ultimately, it should be based on the type of personal activity and the immediate requirements of the UK government application page.
