Update September 25, 2026: Finish the school nomination first, not just on the last day.
Today we checked the University of Toronto admissions page and guidance from Forest Hill Collegiate Institute (FHCI), part of the Toronto District School Board. FHCI asks students seeking nomination to contact their school by 2 October , before the university's 9 October nomination deadline; 2 October applies only to FHCI, not to every high school in Taiwan . Readers in Taiwan should confirm their own school's selection deadline.
If awarded, the scholarship applies to the first-choice programme at the time the award decision is made, rather than any admitted choice. Nominees receive a personalised link but must apply for admission before submitting the scholarship application. The official FAQ retains some old-cycle dates; we use its explicitly labelled 2027 timeline, corroborated by FHCI's current notice, and do not repeat an old results date.

Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship is a major full-size scholarship of University of Toronto for new students at the International University Department. 2027 The entrance ladder is now in the upper secondary school nomination stage and applicants must be formally nominated by their own upper secondary school before they complete their application for admission to the U of T University Department and their exclusive application for Pearson Scholarship.
The official 2027 time frame is 9 October 2026, 16 October for U of T enrolment applications and 6 November for Pearson Scholarship applications and documents.
Eligibility for Taiwanese applicants
Eligible applicants from Taiwan are non-Canadian international students who require a Canadian study permit, are in their final secondary-school year in 2026/27 or graduated no earlier than June 2026, and intend to begin their first undergraduate degree at U of T in September 2027.
A person who has entered a college or university or is expected to start reading in January 2027 at a university in the U of T or another university is not eligible for this qualification.
Content of the grant
The award covers tuition, books, incidental fees and full residence support for four years. The University of Toronto selects approximately 37 Pearson Scholars annually.
Proposals for action
The most important thing now for Taiwan students is not to write scholarship forms first, but to confirm whether their high schools have joined the U of T Pearson system. It is recommended that nominations be confirmed immediately with the guidance room, the international education centre, the principal ' s office or the teacher responsible for the promotion abroad; Only one person can be nominated per school, so the selection will normally be earlier than the official deadline of 9 October.
Once a nomination has been made, the application for U of T admission will be synchronized to avoid losing the Pearson scholarship due to the missed appointment of October 16th.
