Unlike general short-term visits, the programme combines urban exploration, international forums, co-education in Australian schools, cross-country group collaboration and university innovation training to enable students to perform thematic and communication tasks in the overseas environment.

Students participated in the Global Link Australia International Secondary School Education Forum on Morton Island, which featured presentations and discussions in English with students from different countries, at the heart of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals** SDG 14 "Underwater Life"** and ** SDG 15 "Life in the Land"**.

The Ministry of Education has indicated that students are engaged in the expression of their views and cooperation in cross-cultural contexts, coming from such topics as the ecology of the islands, marine conservation and sustainable tourism.

The second half of the trip went to Tasmania, where students entered local schools to participate in the "Island to Island: Seeing the City of the Future from the Seaport" co-education course, working with Australian students on a one-on-one basis, classroom learning and transnational groups.

Learning has extended from islands, ports, marine culture and the ecological environment to future work, and students have finally come together to propose a programme of action for seaport cities.
