In October, the Australasia Party proposed to further reduce the number of international students and tighten post-graduation work arrangements. The university group responded that visa applications and issuance for higher education students had declined and that any further drastic cuts could affect school operations, employment and educational exports.
At this stage, it's a party proposition.
The relevant provisions have not yet entered into force. The current status of Student visa and Temporary Graduate visa should remain subject to the Ministry of the Interior Proclamation, and applicants should not change their plans solely under the title of the party press conference or the media.
What do Taiwan students and their parents think?
Three types of information are available to those preparing to enrol in 2027: actual university admissions, conditions for the examination of student visas, and work visa rules to be applied upon graduation. Post-graduation paths may change during school attendance, and the quality of the curriculum and the development of the backstage should remain at the core of the selection process.
