Public Health 與 Medicine 的視角不同。醫學處理個別病人的診斷與治療；公共衛生更重疾病預防、健康政策、健康不平等、人口資料與健康系統。
一、會讀什麼？
Waterloo Public Health 的課程涵蓋 biological determinants、sociology、anatomy and physiology、health data science，之後延伸 global/community health、health systems、policy、nutrition、pandemic preparedness 等。
二、Public Health 跟 Health Sciences 有什麼差別？
Health Sciences 往往更靠近 human biology、physiology、clinical research；Public Health 則更強調 population health、social determinants、policy、prevention 與 systems thinking。
三、高中需要很多自然科嗎？
不一定像 Medicine 或 Biomedical Science 那麼重。以 Waterloo 為例，Ontario 申請要求 Grade 12 English 與 Mathematics，但真正條件仍要逐校確認。
四、適合什麼學生？
對健康議題有興趣，但也喜歡資料、政策、社會科學、人口趨勢與系統問題的人。若你更想直接照護病人，可比較 Nursing；若更偏生物實驗，可比較 Biomedical Sciences。
五、職涯方向
Public Health Analyst、Health Promotion、Policy Analyst、Epidemiology-related work、Health Research、Health Informatics、NGO / government health roles；研究或流行病學職涯常會再念 MPH、MSc 或 PhD。
