Public Health has a different perspective from Medicine. Medical treatment for the diagnosis and treatment of individual patients; Public health is more sensitive to disease prevention, health policies, health inequalities, population information and health systems.

I. What do you read?

Waterloo Public Health courses cover biologic programs, sociology, anatomy and physiology, health data science, and later extension of global/community health, health systems, policy, non-ition, pandemic preparedness, etc.

Second, what's the difference between Public Health and Health Science?

Health Science tends to be closer to human biology, physiology, clinical research. Public Health places greater emphasis on human health, social priorities, policy, prevention and systems thinking.

III. Does high school require a lot of natural sciences?

Not necessarily as heavy as Medicine or Biomedical Science. In the case of Waterloo, Ontario applied for Glade 12 English and Mathematics, but the real conditions were confirmed on a school-by-school basis.

For what students?

People who are interested in health issues but also in information, policy, social sciences, demographic trends and systemic issues. If you want to take care of the patient directly, it's more like Nursing; Biodical Sciences can be compared if biological experiments are preferred.

V. Career orientation

Public Health Analyst、Health Promotion、Policy Analyst、Epidemiology-related work、Health Research、Health Informatics、NGO / government health roles; MPH, MSC or PhD are regularly taken up in research or epidemiological careers.
