Health Informatics / Health Information Science 研究醫療資訊如何被蒐集、管理、分析、交換與安全使用。它不是一般 CS 加一點醫療，而是要同時理解 health systems、information technology、data governance 與 privacy。
一、主要會讀什麼
常見內容包括 programming、databases、health information systems、health data standards、privacy and security、systems analysis、project management、clinical workflows、analytics 與 decision support。
二、和 Computer Science 差在哪
Computer Science 更重 algorithms、software、systems 與 computing theory；Health Informatics 則把技術放進 hospitals、clinics、public health、electronic health records 與 healthcare management 情境中。
三、適合什麼學生
- 對醫療有興趣，但不一定想做臨床
- 喜歡資料、系統與流程改善
- 願意學 programming、database、privacy
- 對醫院資訊系統與數位醫療有興趣
四、申請前怎麼準備
高中可先加強 Mathematics、Computer Science、Statistics 與 Biology。University of Victoria 的 BSc Health Information Science 是四年制並要求至少三個 co-op work terms，顯示這類課程很重實際醫療資訊工作場景。
