Two, what's the difference between Translation and Modern Languages?

Modern Languages focuses on linguistic skills, culture and regional studies. Translation & Interpreting treats trans-linguistic information as a professional skill and research object. Language skills are a prerequisite, but training is also required for meminology, ethics, audience, register, technology and sspecialized domains.

Translation and interpretation are different.

Translation mainly handles written text; Interpreting processing instantaneous applications, common simultaneous, consumable, dialogue interpreting. Both require speed, memory, note-taking and preparation.
