University photography courses usually include both image production, photographic history and theory, anallog/digital workwork, multimedia, exhibitions and personal creation. It's not about equipment, it's about how you express, research and communicate with images.
I. What do you read mainly?
NYU Tisch Photogramphy & Imaging BFA, which is centred on making and undermining images, covers analog, digital photo-based image making, multimedia, new media and post-photography 3D Simulation. The first year also includes courses in Phottography & Imaging, Culture/History/Imaging, Contemplary Imaging Practice.
II. Where's the difference with Film Production?
Photography weighs more single sheets or video series, photographic languages, exhibitions and visual research; Flim Production is more time-sensitive narratives, division of tasks, sound and editing.
iii. What's the difference with Graphic/Visual Commission?
Photography is centred on image-making; It is more extensive, and may include typogrampy, gramic systems, branding, information signature and digital communication.

V. PREPARATION FOR APPLICATION
Photography BFA often requests creative portfolio. The NYU Tisch explicitly requires Phottogramy & Imaging applicants to submit their creative works through SlideRoom, so the high school stage should begin to build subject-oriented, serialized works rather than just "best-looking pictures".
