Industrial Design 結合 human-centred design、product development、service design、materials、technology 與 prototype，從人的需求出發設計可以被製造與使用的產品、服務或系統。
一、主要會讀什麼
RMIT Industrial Design 強調 practice-based studios、人本設計、產品／服務／體驗設計，以及 sustainable products、services and systems，並以實際 industry/community problem 為學習情境。
二、跟 Graphic Design 差在哪
Graphic Design 更常聚焦視覺溝通、品牌、排版與平面／數位媒體；Industrial Design 更關注物件、使用情境、材料、製造、人體工學與產品系統。
三、跟 Engineering 差在哪
Engineering 更重技術性能、計算與工程原理；Industrial Design 更重使用者需求、形態、體驗與產品整合。實際專案常需要兩者合作。
四、適合什麼學生
- 喜歡畫草圖、做模型與 prototype
- 對產品、家具、交通工具、服務或科技裝置有興趣
- 願意反覆測試與修改
- 能結合創意、使用者需求與技術限制
五、申請前準備
設計學校常重作品集或 selection task。作品不只放 final product，也要呈現 research、ideation、sketching、prototype、testing 與 iteration。
