Dental Technology 的核心不是看診，而是運用 biomaterials、design、CAD/CAM、3D printing 與製作技術，完成 crowns、bridges、dentures、implants、mouthguards 和 orthodontic appliances。

常見內容包括 dental anatomy、biomaterials、removable and fixed prosthetics、digital dentistry、3D design and manufacturing、professional practice 與 applied research。
二、和 Dentistry / Dental Hygiene 差在哪
Dentistry 是牙醫臨床診斷與治療；Dental Hygiene 是病人口腔預防照護；Dental Technology 則主要在 laboratory、workshop 與 digital studio 製作牙科修復物與裝置。
三、適合什麼學生
- 喜歡精細手作、設計與數位製造
- 對材料科學、3D modelling、CAD/CAM 有興趣
- 不一定想每天做第一線病人診療
- 耐心、空間感與細節能力強
四、申請重點
不同國家對 dental technician 有不同註冊制度。像 Otago 的 BDentTech 是三年大學學士，並明確銜接紐西蘭 dental technician registration；因此選校時要看 professional recognition，不是只看 degree title。
