Modern Journalism is no longer a single newspaper writing, but combines professional training in reporting, research, intelview, Broadcast, digital protection, data, law and ethics.
What do you read mainly?
Journalism BA of City St. George's provides professional training for print, Broadcast and online journalism; NCTJ's Diploma in Journalism also places at its core a number of issues, including: economic journalism, multiplatform storytelling, video, social media, data, media law.
What kind of student?
- There is a high level of curiosity about current events, public issues, people and stories.
- They are willing to ask questions, check information and validate information.
- I've been able to accept the deathline, the stress of the interview and the overture.
- Word skills are important, but judgement and evidence-seeking are more important.
What's the difference between Journalism and Communization/ Media?
Journalism It's more career-oriented; Communication It is usually broader, and may include PR, advertising, media theory, digital communication; Media Studies It may be more media culture, industry and theoretical analysis.
What do you want to see at school?
- Are there any newsroom, TV / radio studio, podcast, data journalism devices?
- Whether to schedule live reporting, newsday, place or newsroom stabilization.
- The UK is aware of NCTJ accreditation, but not all excellent journalism courses must follow the same path of certification.
- Whether or not the curriculum covers media law, ethics, verification, digital storytelling.
How do you prepare for high school?
It can start with school magazines, interviews, Podcasts, short audio news, and feature stories. More valuable than a lot of "thank you" is a work with real sources of interviews, background checks, and different views.
