The EJU is used to assess the Japanese and basic skills required for international students to enter Japanese universities, but the candidates are not subject to a regular four-student examination, but rather to a selection of subjects according to the target universities and faculties.
One, EJU has four majors.
JASSO lists Jepanese as a Foreign Language, Science, Japan and the World, Mathematics. Science chooses two sections from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Mathematics split between Course 1 and Course 2.
Two, Science and Japan and the World can't sit together.
The two were scheduled for the same period, so that the candidates could not take both Science and the World. This is also why it is important to check with the Department of Targeting Studies to request registration.
iii. In addition to Japanese, there are other EJU subjects available in English.
JASSO notes that EJU is optional in Japanese or English, but the japanese as a Foreign Language itself is only Japanese. The target university may designate the language to be tested and therefore cannot assume on its own that the English version will be accepted.
iv. Twice a year, and the fractions are valid for the university.
EJU has met twice a year in principle since 2002 in June and November. JASSO currently states two years of performance, but when applying, the university will specify which test sessions to accept.
Five, 2026, there's an entrance exam in Taiwan.
JASSO 2026 guidelines put Taiwan (Taipei) at the overseas examination. The examination dates are 21 June and 8 November 2026. These dates are dynamic information and are re-examined for subsequent years.
Official sources check.
This is a long-acting guide to DIY; The eligibility, cut-off date, tuition fees, tests, visas and professional rules should be reconfirmed back on the official page of the application year.
