These names are often placed in the same search results, but courses may extend from natural sciences to policy, social justice, GIS, management and science and technology. The school chooses to ask yourself: "How does the environment work, or how does humans manage the environment?"
II. Four official courses to understand the difference
UBC BA Environnement and Sustability: People and Environment Interaction

UBC BC Environmental Sciences / Geographic Sciences: Science and Methods

In both cases, scientific methods and information are more important than looking at the name of sustainability alone.
Wageningen BSc Environmental Sciences: Natural, social, technological mix
WUR’s English language teaching Environmental Sciences explicitly includes mathematics, statistics, chemistry, water, soil and environmental technology, as well as how humans, businesses and governments influence the environment. It suits students who want to keep science/technology depth and who want to deal with sustainability issues.
UNSW Environmental Management: Bringing Science to Policy and Management
UNSW’s Environmental Management course, which brings together environmental science with research, economics, social concerns of policy and governance, is a typical route of how environmental issues are managed.
Three: If you like GIS, don't just search for environmental science.
Many students prefer maps, telemetry, disasters, cities, climate and spatial information, and may actually be better suited to Geography / Geographic Science / GIS / Remote Sensing. UBC's Geographic Science places GIScence and remote sensing as one of the special directions for seniors.
