Engineering is not a single department. The curricula of Michanical, Electric, Computer, Civil, Chemical, Mechatronics, Biomedical, Systems Design are very different from career, but the common denominator is that the basic requirements of mathematics and science are generally clearer than those of general business and social science.
I. DEFINITION OF THE ELECTRONIC SECTION
- Mechanical: Mechanical, thermodynamic, material, design, manufacture.
- Electrical / Computer: Circuits, electronics, signals, hardware, embedded systems.
- Civil: Structure, transport, water resources, infrastructure.
- Chemical: Chemical process, heat transfer, response engineering.
- Mechatronics: Mechanical+electronic+control+ program.
- Biomedical: Engineering methods are applied to medical and biological systems.
II. OSSD applications are most common prerequisite
In the case of Waterloo Engineering's Ontario requirements, most of the projects required six Grade 12 U/M and included ENG4U, SPH4U Physics, SCH4U Chemistry, MHF4U Advanced Technologies, MCV4U Calculus and Victors. This means that the engineering selection course cannot begin until the third grade.
iii. It's not just the grades.
Some of the engineering colleges will be added to the program. Waterloo Engineering uses AIF and online input in addition to achievement. Different schools have different practices, so there is an additional column for “Supplementary applications” on the school list.
For what students?
People who like to solve problems, maths, physics, and make abstract concepts into practical systems. If you like coding but don't like Physics / Chemistry, compare Science; If you like to design space and architecture, see Architecure.
