Animation is not just drawing cartoons. USC Aviation + Digital Arts has included information on character animation, visual storytelling, performity capture, visual effects, motion grammatics, immersive media and real-time association.
I. What do you read mainly?
Common content includes drawings, storyboarding, character design, 2D/3D animation, cinematic language, editing, sounding, VFX, mooring graphs, and external association. Different schools may have a preference for art, film, technology or gampeline.
What's the difference between two, and Film and Game Art?
- Animation: The focus is on dynamic images, role and visual narratives.
- Film Production: More heavy live-action shoot process.
- Game Art: More heavy realtime assets, environment, character pipeline with game engines.
III. EQUIPMENT OF STUDENTS
A student who likes to draw, plays, stories, images and is willing to change the details over and over for a long time. Animation requires creativity and much patience, technical freedom and protection discipline.
IV. PREPARATION FOR APPLICATION
The collection is usually more important than "can't a software set" . You can prepare an observational drawing, character work, storyboard, short animation, 3D model, motion graphs or executive work, and show ideas and procise. USC has also requested that animation + Digital Arts applicants submit SlideRoom supplementational materials.
